PROJECT INFO
When & where
Project Back to ourselves! started on January 1 and culminated with a youth exchange from July 23 to August 1, 2023, in a village called Kunčice pod Ondřejníkem located nearby to the city of Frýdek-Místek.
What was it about
The project aim
The project was an international youth exchange, which revolved around prevention of mental health and social media inour everyday life.
The main aims of this project were:
-
Explain to participants the importance of prevention and promote interest in their mental health. This will help young people the be opened to issues of mental health and be able to talk about stigmas related to that topic.
-
To raise the attention about the impact of the social media to our ordinary life and how to deal with it.
Methods
During the project we introduced the participants to a wide range of methods, namely non-formal education methods, self-reflection, various types of workshops where participants discussed certain topic, and also used the brainstorming method. Two city-visits also took place; a visit to Frýdek-Místek and a visit to Ostrava. We also organized outdoor activities (hiking trails, rope-climbing center, jump-center etc.). We also used energizers and ice-breaking activities, which were organized with the help of other participating nations.
The output of the project is a film about the entire project, a photo gallery, the project's own hashtag and its own website, which will then be used to disseminate the project. Together, 48 young people participated in the project, including 8 leaders, 1 university student as support of the project topic workshops and 5 participants with fewer opportunities with 2 leaders. The target group of participants consists of young people who are interested in a healthy way of life and realize that prevention of mental health is an important aspect of their lives.
