What was this project about?

The project "For fir life, for myself" took place within July, 27 and August, 6, 2015 in the Czech Republic, near the town of Frydek-Mistek (town Zermanice) in Moravian-Silesian region. There were 7 countries taking part in this project: Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Malta, Russia, Spain and Sweden.

This project was an international youth exchange which was about healthy lifestyle. The main aims of this project can be found in 4 fields: we wanted to motivate young people for more interest in healthy diet. We wanted to present them principals of healthy eating and lead them to think about their own food diet. The second aim was to motivate young people to be more interested in different kinds of sporting possibilities. We presented to young people different kinds of non-traditional outdoor activities and show them the sport also as a way to make friendship and to overcome themselves. The third aim was to support young people so that they would understand the importance of relaxation and support them in thoughts about their behaviour towards themselves, people around and nature. The last aim of this project was focused on local community. We gave a chance to young people of our region to take part in hiking to Pustevny mountain as well as in other sporting activities. We would like to support them to think about their healthy lifestyle as well as about their language and cultural knowledge.

During the project we worked with wide spectrum of methods: with methods of non-formal learning, self-reflection, different kinds of workshops where youth will discuss and use also the method of brainstorming. There was also visits of Frydek-Mistek and Ostrava, we worked also with outdoor activities. We also worked with energizers and ice-breaking games which were organized by other participating nations. We were also working with a method of "cultural evenings", during which will participants with the help of informal learning learn more about other European cultures.
